About Mana Mushrooms

Mana Mushrooms is an idea that was born out of experience with ZERI (Zero Emissions Research and Initiatives).

We grow exotic, gourmet and medicinal mushrooms. We have joined with local industrial partners, taking their by-products and creating more value with them.

We implement industrial systems design to turn waste streams into our competitive advantages. By being environmentally conscious, making efforts to reduce the footprint of business and increase resource efficiency, we will be net positive contributors to communities in which we operate.

We will take advantage of the tremendous marketing opportunities afforded to us by virtue of the way we approach business. We will innovate, cultivating opportunities where once there were problems. We will push industries in which we are involved toward more responsible environmental and social standards without adopting burdensome methods that sacrifice profitability and the very impact of this standards-changing approach.

Mana Mushrooms will take what is currently waste and produce a protein- and nurtient-rich food source that will be distributed to the $9 billion global commodity market for mushrooms: primarily to the US exotic market, into which oyster and shiitake fit. This domestic market represents approximately 7.5M pounds shiitake and 4M pounds oyster mushrooms as of 2003/2004, according to USDA data.
