This market is where I had intended to sell the mushrooms from Columbia. CIP - Chicago International Produce Market is NOT to be confused with CIP fluids or cleaning in process fluids from brewers, discussed elsewhere in the site. Sometimes I use CIPM to differentiate the two acronyms. See blog entries and recent posts tagged with shipping for more details.
So, this is a link I discovered while re-reading through the thread / conversation from Pro Brewer... energy with CIP fluids... hm.
Briefly, the most recent cultivation effort was scrubbed several days ago. I reordered spawn, this time both liquid and sawdust. I recently had the pleasure of communicating with SCIZERINM's Lynda Taylor, who piqued my interest in returning to rye grain spawn.
For the intrepid and thorough, I encourage you to poke around on flickr and on del.icio.us, looking for "Mana Mushrooms" as a keyword. There is a great deal of material not yet pubic on flickr, which tracks my lab progress in great detail. My hope is that these photos will help anyone who follows in some of my footsteps to learn from my many mistakes-- after all, I'm living in the city of Big Shoulders ;)
I'm headed into the next phase of testing and will report back son, hopefully with more heartening results. In the for-what-it's worth- category, a small clump of oysters mocked me from within the pile of discarded substrate behind my facility as I shoveled it into a tidy pile in below-freezing temperatures this morning :-)
