Per my first link in the shipping section, I got this far and a little further, after meeting in-person with the head of the cultivation organization, in trying to address the logistics of importing shiitake and oyster before discovering that the Columbian contact could not fulfill orders.

UPS hybrids are super cool, though I have yet to see one, even in the city. I spoke to a UPS driver about it one day and he said they were in use in the cities, but that there were very few.

When I was approached by a Columbian cultivator, I did some research on international shipping. Given the perishable nature of mushrooms, time is of the essence.

Part of my interest in this space is to offset the CO2 emissions of each shipment, which must be done by air to deliver over vast distances. Ideally, the distribution model is decentralized and ground shipping can take place. Also to be considered as we get into cultural awareness of emissions with the most common carbon-dioxide emission conversation; there are other types of emissions, like particulate emissions, which we will have to cope with.
